They loaded it with 300 kilos of explosives at the limit of its carrying capacity and operational capability: The sea drones of the Magura V5 type carry a full warhead weighing 300 kilograms, which consists of the powerful military explosive RDX in combination with plasticizers (Composition H6 or similar). This explosive material has been designed as a shaped charge, which means that the energy of the explosion is not dispersed uniformly in all directions, but is directed with enormous pressure toward a specific point. The activation of the charge is achieved through three impact sensors that are positioned on the bow of the vessel and detonate instantaneously upon impact, while the system also has the capability of remote detonation via satellite command in case of necessity.

Territorial Waters in the Ionian Sea – Lefkada Area according to UNCLOS Lefkada is located extremely close to mainland Greece (Akarnania). The width of the channel and the lagoon that separates it from the opposite mainland coast ranges from approximately 600 meters to a maximum of 5 kilometers (approximately 2.7 nautical miles). The greatest distance from the eastern coasts of Lefkada to the mainland coast is less than 3 nautical miles. The intermediate islands and islets (Meganisi, Skorpios, Sparta, Madouri and others) further strengthen this proximity.

Full Coverage as Greek Territorial Waters according to UNCLOS The total sea space between Lefkada, the intermediate islands and mainland Greece is covered fully and uninterruptedly as Greek territorial waters.

According to UNCLOS (United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea):

• Every island has full rights to territorial waters, exactly as the mainland country (Article 121).
