A humble prayerful text inspired by Abba Isaac the Syrian
ISAIAH 58:8
''Then shall your light break forth as the morning and your righteousness shall spring forth speedily; and your righteousness shall go before you; the glory of the LORD shall be your reward.''
Concerning the Noble, Apocalyptic, and Creative Indwelling Within Oneself!!!
And so… when you no longer speak to anyone… when you no longer see… when you no longer have dealings with anyone… when you are powerless to correct or change anything—neither what is yours nor what belongs to others… when you know nothing, understand nothing, and are able to do nothing about anything at all… when you have been abandoned and rejected by everyone, and when you yourself have withdrawn from all… when you have come to know yourself as nothing and less than nothing… when you have clearly recognized how far you stand from the saints, from the angels, and from God Himself— your crimes throughout life, your absence of repentance, the lack of the fear of God and of the remembrance of the fearful death and the yet more fearful Judgment… and how greatly you have grieved God, His All-Holy Mother, His angels and saints, and all mankind— and when you perceive with perfect clarity that you possess within yourself not a single thing that is capable of correction…
Then, violently turn your tears, your cry, and your groaning toward your own heart— force them inward with all your strength until, in one instantaneous moment, the Whole—the unalloyed, the unrelenting—enters into it. For there is nothing more you can do, nothing greater than this. But this Whole… by deliberate choice, by will, and by decision, surrender it to the Holy God… entrust it wholly to Him… by His grace… to His Grace.. to Him alone.
And then the Sun of Righteousness, the very God, shall shine forth like a great star established in the midst of the heavens— within your heart— and He will illuminate and radiate through all your darkness, and He will cause your affliction to vanish utterly.
Keep nothing hidden, nothing dark within you. And, with the blessing of your Ecclesiastical Orthodox Spiritual Father, partake of this Holy God Himself—the Lord Jesus Christ— for from Him and in Him alone you shall be saved. Nothing greater than He can you possess, nothing more can you have.
This is the supreme desire, this is the true and eternal purpose of life: He is God, and He is your God— and beyond Him you can neither have nor do anything at all.
By His grace, hasten toward Him, walk in the footprints of His feet, for this path is ready and perfect. Every other path is a precipice, delusion, and perdition, and only with great difficulty shall a man be saved, as it is written in Holy Scripture.
Therefore strive, fight the noble and virtuous fight upon this path alone, and you shall know the tree by its fruit— and you yourself shall be.. known.
Amen. Truly, amen!!!
