our statement prolog to a following text of HESTIA OF PATRISTIC STUDIES
The purpose is neither to vindicate the Russian or the Ecumenical Patriarchate, nor to have either of them—whether one or the other—cooperate or continue cooperating in geopolitical expediency, circumstances, or practices in favor of the world’s powerful. Rather, it is to highlight and manifest the Truth (aletheia) and to restore Ecclesial Order on the basis of Ecclesial History, Holy Tradition, the divinely inspired and true Orthodox Faith, and the Sacred Canons.
As is well known, the Slavic patriarchates constitute modern (18th-century and later) constructs outside the sacred Ecclesiastical History and Tradition of the ancient Patriarchates; they arose from strong Slavic national sentiment or mindset, which at times exceeds Truth and Unity in the Orthodox Ecclesia. They ought, instead, to have remained Archdioceses under the Ecumenical Patriarchate. Yet the Ecumenical Patriarchate itself must remain absolutely steadfast and unshaken in the Holy Tradition of the Orthodox Church, following the most exact steps of the Saint Apostoles and the Holy and God-bearing Fathers of the Faith, without deviating or even approaching the corruption of ecumenism or any other heresis..
We therefore distinguish ourselves from the foregoing article in what was previously stated, and further in this: Ukraine is not “Little Russia”—it is Russia. Indeed, it is Russia itself, belonging to Russia, and is its spiritual and natural cradle (with Orthodox and ancient Hellenic roots). It ought, therefore, to remain united with Russia.
Moreover, Russia, Europe, America, and the Vatican ought never—directly or indirectly—interfere or impose themselves in any way upon the Ecclesiastical affairs of the One Orthodox Church, and especially of the Holy Mountain. These deeds must certainly be done and understood by all, without further deviations, frictions, disputes, or crimes. We hope we have been both clear and comprehensible.

Comment on the Recent Visit of Epiphanius Dumenko to the Holy Mountain
HESTIA OF PATRISTIC STUDIES
The visit of Epiphanius Dumenko to the Holy Mountain has proven in these days to be yet another wound inflicted upon the body of the Orthodox Russian people—the people dwelling in the expanse of Great Russia and Little Russia, as Ukraine was known before the infernal machinations and historical circumstances that led to state separation and, all too often, hatred between Russians and Ukrainians. Let us not fix our gaze on the worldly power of the Russian state, nor perhaps even on ecclesiastical authority, but rather on the Orthodox faithful. How greatly have the Orthodox Russians suffered—the entire ecclesiastical body: Russians, Ukrainians, Belarusians, the believing people!
- From the 14th to the 18th century, harsh propaganda by Jesuits and Uniates in Little Russia, which was under Polish occupation, involving murders and... violent Latinizations.
- Attempts to divide the Russian Church.
- The tyranny of Soviet communism in the 20th century, during which so many of our brethren were tortured, exiled, and executed, and so many were proclaimed as martyrs.
- And beyond this, amid such torments, two schisms wounded the unity of the Russian Church at that time: the so-called "Living Church," directed by the communists, which seized the temples of the canonical Church; and the faction of Orthodox who separated themselves, refusing to commemorate Patriarch Sergius, demanding canonical exactitude.
- Following the passing of Soviet tyranny in 1988 and thereafter, the onslaught of the Uniates, who violently attacked the Orthodox temples of Ukrainian Orthodox believers, desecrating them and abusing the faithful.
And now, since 2018, we have torments once more for the Orthodox of Ukraine. And this time, we Greeks, the Orthodox Romans, bear the responsibility. The Ecumenical Patriarchate, whose coordinating role for Orthodoxy consists in a continual effort toward the unity and pacification of the local Churches, in the case of the Church of Ukraine, through the uncanonical granting of autocephaly, has inflicted upon the Orthodox faithful an unbearable confusion, fear, upheaval, and schism. "The wound is wholly in the body, and incurable" (Gregory the Theologian) has become the ecclesiastical body of Little Russia, of Ukraine.
The Patriarchate's argument that the Metropolis of Kiev was transferred in 1686 to the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Moscow only temporarily, and that the Patriarch of Moscow was granted only the right to ordain the Metropolitan of Kiev, is untrue. The relevant documents reveal that this transfer was full and permanent. Behold an excerpt from the manuscript of the patriarchal and synodal act of Ecumenical Patriarch Dionysius IV, by which the Metropolis of Kiev was granted to the Metropolitan of Moscow: "Equal and unaltered to the patriarchal and synodal letter given to the most blessed Patriarch of Moscow, the issuance of the letter, I say, for the Metropolis of Kiev to be subject to his patriarchal throne and for the elected one of Kiev to be ordained by him"[1].
As a result, the autocephaly granted was not a canonical right of the Patriarchate of Constantinople. It is lamentable what kind of people were chosen for this work. Adopted as canonical bishops were the unordained, defrocked, and anathematized Filaret (Denisenko) and Makarios (Maletich). A sincere investigation suffices to reveal the character of these men. Thus, the elderly Filaret, Metropolitan of Kiev, had been defrocked for his rebellion by the Patriarchate of Moscow and proclaimed himself "Patriarch." Makarios Maletich, who among other things entered and... exited the theological school of Odessa three times without studying, became the primate of another schismatic faction, the "Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church," ordained by unordained pseudo-bishops.
The Ecumenical Patriarch attempted to violently sever the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church from the jurisdiction of the Patriarchate of Moscow. And since this was not achieved, he created a new formation, the "Orthodox Church of Ukraine" (OCU). These ethno-phyletist pseudo-bishops, with the blessings of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, were "restored by magic" and established as members of the OCU, while the "spiritual child" of Filaret "Patriarch" of Kiev, Epiphanius Dumenko, was recognized as Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine. What would one expect thereafter? Only the verification of Christ's words: "A corrupt tree brings forth corrupt fruit." Ambitious people who trample ecclesiastical institutions, without the grace of the officiating Holy Spirit—could they bring peace and unity to the Orthodox of Ukraine?
Filaret once again defected and assumed his "throne," creating a new "Patriarchal Synod of Kiev," while to this day he is inscribed canonically in the diptychs of the Ecumenical Patriarchate and the Church of Greece as honorary Patriarch! The others tyrannize the Orthodox flock of Ukraine with their pseudo-bishops. Seizures, destructions, and desecrations of the temples of the canonical Church under Metropolitan Onuphry, thefts of property, assaults, imprisonments of priests, violent demonstrations. The abbot of the Kiev Caves Lavra, Paul, was imprisoned. With the blessings of Dumenko, his bishops, and the aid of state authority, the followers of the OCU, in military uniforms, enter and occupy the temples.
What is the final result of the "autocephaly"? Schisms upon schisms. Let the Apostle beseech us "by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all say the same thing, and that there be no schisms among you, but that you be perfected in the same mind and in the same judgment." We, however, follow the spirit of the world and the demands of the powerful.
Behold the schisms: Schism between the canonical Church of Ukraine and the Church of Russia; schism between Russia and the Church of Constantinople; schism between the Church of Russia and the Church of Greece, and between all those Churches that recognized the Ukrainian autocephaly. Divisions among clergy, monks, and laity—some supporters of the autocephaly, others denying its canonicity.
Unbearable sorrow floods all our hearts. "Every head is in pain, and every heart in sorrow. From the feet to the head, there is no soundness in him, neither wound nor bruise nor inflamed sore."
Perhaps there was some healthy part in the body of the Church. Maybe the Garden of the Panagia? And to fulfill the prophecy of Isaiah, so that no "soundness" remains, not even one healthy part in the Orthodoxy of Greece amid this upheaval, the Protos and certain Athonite monasteries received Epiphanius Dumenko with glory and honor. Some abbots, with exceeding reverence, kissed his hand and asked for his prayers. Fine. They may not have known his statement that kissing the priest's hand shows subjection and is a Russian custom which he does not share. However, they cannot be unaware of the atrocities, the persecutions of clergy and laity of the Canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the seizures and desecrations occurring in Ukraine. Even the UN demanded an account from Zelensky for the violence of Epiphanius Dumenko's followers. Why should the Athonite fathers be indifferent to their brethren who are persecuted and tormented again and again? What meaning do the worldwide tours of Athonites for edifying talks have, when they are not accompanied by an example of Orthodox resistance to the satanic spirit of the New Age, which wants not to empty the Churches, but to fill them with people without Orthodox mindset[2]? The entire people of Ukraine was upheaved by the violent intervention of the Patriarchate in ecclesiastical life, by the presence and actions of evil shepherds, the schismatics, while until then, under Metropolitan Onuphry, the Church pacified as much as possible, and the schismatics lived on the margins, doing their own will. The envious enemy of Christians achieved all this turmoil and division in Ukraine.
The prophet Isaiah, who laments the condition of Israel, with his words mirrors also the current state of our Church. Pained by what was happening and somewhat despairing from the continuing apostasy of his kin, the Prophet writes: "There is no ointment to apply, neither oil nor bandages." It is as if he says to them: "You are so wounded by sin and apostasy that healing plasters cannot touch your wounds, neither oil nor bandages to cure you." So are we today as Church. Not only because of the Ukrainian problem, but also from the irrational prayers, intercommunion with heresy, and the erosion of part of the clergy and people by the galloping assault of Ecumenism—we are as a body thoroughly wounded. The blasphemous contempt and trampling of the Holy Canons in their entirety has led to confusion and loss of souls. However, we have the holy, Orthodox Tradition of our Church. Only if we humbly bow our necks to the truth of the Gospel, to the teaching of the holy Fathers, and to the exactitude of the divinely inspired Holy Canons (first of all and as our guides, the Athonite fathers) will the wounds of the Church be healed; will the sacred Ship be led to the pacification of the faithful, to true unity in Christ.
Yet these Orthodox foundations seem to have vanished from the ecclesiastical forefront. It appears that nothing avails anymore. It is as if no one hears anything. Neither cries, nor anger, nor great sorrow have impact on the international system. However, we must persist in prayer, even for the rulers who oppress us, as our spiritual father, Fr. Sarantis, taught us. "Holding fast to the confession" of the Orthodox Faith, with a careful life in Christ, with prayer from the depths of the heart, following the true shepherds, living a careful life in Christ, let us give our Orthodox witness, having our hope in our Lord. We hope that He, as so many times before, will grant the outcome to the present temptation, hearkening to our humble supplications, and will pacify His holy Church "which He acquired with His own blood."

Σχόλιο στήν πρόσφατη ἐπίσκεψη τοῦ Ἐπιφανίου Ντουμένκο στό Ἅγιον Ὄρος
ΕΣΤΙΑ ΠΑΤΕΡΙΚΩΝ ΜΕΛΕΤΩΝ
- Ἀπό τὸν 14ο αἰῶνα μέχρι καὶ τὸν 18ο αἰῶνα σκληρὴ προπαγάνδα Ἰησουιτῶν καὶ οὐνιτῶν στὴ Μικρὴ Ρωσία πού ἦταν ὑπὸ πολωνικὴ κατοχὴ, δολοφονίες καὶ... βίαιοι ἐκλατινισμοὶ.
- Προσπάθεια διασπάσεως τῆς ρωσικῆς Ἐκκλησίας.
- Τυραννία τοῦ σοβιετικοῦ κομμουνισμοῦ τὸν 20ο αἰῶνα στὴ διάρκεια τοῦ ὁποίου βασανίσθηκαν ἐξορίσθηκαν καὶ ἐκτελέσθηκαν τόσοι ἀδελφοί μας καὶ ἀνακηρύχθηκαν τόσοι μάρτυρες.

Ἡ λεγόμενη «Ζῶσα Ἐκκλησία» κατευθυνομένη ἀπὸ τοὺς κομμουνιστὲς ποὺ ἅρπαζε τοὺς ναοὺς τῆς κανονικῆς Ἐκκλησίας καὶ ἡ παράταξη ὀρθοδόξων ποὺ ἀπεσχίσθησαν μὴ μνημονεύοντας τὸν Πατριαρχη Σέργιο ἀπαιτώντας τὴν κανονικὴ ἀκρίβεια.
- Ἀπὸ τὴν παρέλευση τῆς σοβιετικῆς τυραννίας τὸ 1988 καὶ μετὰ, ἐπέλαση τῶν οὐνιτῶν ποὺ μὲ βία ἐπετέθησαν στούς ὀρθοδόξους ναοὺς τῶν οὐκρανῶν ὀρθοδόξων βεβηλώνοντάς τους καὶ κακοποιώντας τοὺς πιστούς.
Καὶ τώρα ἀπὸ τὸ 2018 ἔχουμε πάλι βάσανα γιὰ τοὺς ὀρθοδόξους τῆς Οὐκρανίας. Καὶ αὐτὴ τὴ φορὰ εὐθυνόμαστε ἐμεῖς οἱ Ἕλληνες, οἱ Ρωμηοὶ ὀρθόδοξοι. Τὸ Οἰκουμενικό Πατριαρχεῖο, τοῦ ὁποίου ὁ συντονιστικὸς ρόλος του γιά την Ὀρθοδοξία συνίσταται στὴν διαρκῆ προσπάθεια γιὰ τὴν ἑνότητα καὶ εἰρήνευση τῶν κατὰ τόπους Ἐκκλησιῶν, στὴν περίπτωση τῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Οὐκρανίας, μὲ τὴν ἀντικανονικὴ παραχώρηση Αὐτοκεφάλου ἐπέφερε ἀφόρητη γιὰ τοὺς ὀρθοδόξους πιστοὺς, σύγχυση, φόβο, ἀναστάτωση καὶ σχίσμα. «Ὁλοσώματος ἡ πληγὴ, ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀθεράπευτος»(Γρηγόριος Θεολόγος) ἔφθασε νὰ γίνει τὸ ἐκκλησιαστικὸ σῶμα τῆς Μικρῆς Ρωσίας, τῆς Οὐκρανίας.
Τὸ ἐπιχείρημα τοῦ Πατριαρχείου ὅτι ἡ Μητρόπολις Κιέβου εἶχε παραχωρηθεῖ τὸ 1686 στὴν δικαιοδοσία τοῦ Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας προσωρινὰ καὶ ὅτι στὸν Πατριάρχη Μόσχας εἶχε χορηγήσει μόνο τὸ δικαίωμα νὰ χειροτονήσει τὸν Μητροπολίτη Κιέβου δὲν ἀληθεύει. Τὰ σχετικὰ ἔγγραφα ἀποκαλύπτουν ὅτι αὐτὴ ἡ παραχώρηση ἦταν πλήρης καὶ μόνιμη. Ἰδοὺ ἀπόσπασμα τοῦ χειρογράφου τῆς πατριαρχικῆς καὶ συνοδικῆς πράξεως τοῦ Οἰκουμ. Πατριάρχου Διονυσίου Δ΄ μὲ τὴν ὁποία παραχωρήθηκε ἡ Μητρόπολις Κιέβου στὸν Μητροπολίτη Μόσχας «Ἴσον ἀπαράλλακτον τοῦ πατριαρχικοῦ καὶ συνοδικοῦ γράμματος τοῦ δοθέντος τῷ μακαριωτάτῳ πατριάρχῃ Μοσχοβίας, ἐκδόσεως φημὶ γράμματος, ἐπὶ τῷ εἶναι τὴν μητρόπολιν Κιέβου ὑποκειμένην τῷ πατριαρχικῷ αὐτοῦ θρόνῳ καὶ χειροτονεῖσθαι τὸν ψηφισθησόμενον Κιέβου ὑπ᾽ αὐτοῦ»
Ὡς ἐκ τούτου ἡ Αὐτοκεφαλία ποὺ χορηγήθηκε δὲν ἦταν κανονικό δικαίωμα τοῦ Πατριαρχείου Κων/πόλεως. Εἶναι λυπηρὸ ποιοί ἄνθρωποι ἐπελέγησαν γι’αὐτὸ τὸ ἔργο. Υἱοθετήθηκαν ὡς κανονικοὶ Ἐπίσκοποι οἱ ἀχειροτόνητοι, καθηρημένοι, καὶ ἀναθεματισμένοι Φιλάρετος (Ντενισένκο) καὶ Μακάριος (Μάλετιτς). Μία εἰλικρινής ἔρευνα ἀρκεῖ γιὰ νὰ ἀποκαλύψει τὸ ποιὸν αὐτῶν τῶν ἀνθρώπων. Ἔτσι ὁ ὑπέργηρος Φιλάρετος, Μητροπολίτης Κιέβου εἶχε καθαιρεθεῖ γιὰ τἠν ἀνταρσία του ἀπὸ τὸ Πατριαρχεῖο Μόσχας καὶ αὐτοαναγορεύθηκε «Πατριάρχης». Ὁ Μακάριος Μάλετιτς, ὁ ὁποῖος πλὴν ἄλλων τρεῖς φορὲς εἰσῆλθε καὶ… ἐξῆλθε ἀπὸ τὴν θεολογικὴ σχολή τῆς Ὁδησσοῦ, χωρὶς νὰ σπουδάσει, ἔγινε προκαθήμενος ἄλλης σχισματικῆς παρατάξεως, τῆς «οὐκρανικῆς αὐτοκεφάλου ορθόδοξης ἐκκλησίας» χειροτονημένος ἀπὸ ἀχειροτονήτους ψευδεπισκόπους.
Ὁ Οἰκουμενικὸς Πατριάρχης προσπάθησε νὰ ἀποκόψει βιαίως τὴν κανονικὴ Οὐκρανικὴ Ὀρθόδοξη Ἐκκλησία ἀπὸ τὴν δικαιοδοσία τοῦ Πατριαρχείου Μόσχας. Κι ἀφοῦ αὐτὸ δὲν ἐπετεύχθη δημιούργησε ἕνα καινούργιο μόρφωμα, τὴν «Ὀρθόδοξη Ἐκκλησία τῆς Οὐκρανίας»(ΟΕΟ). Αὐτοὶ οἱ ἐθνοφυλετιστές ψευδεπίσκοποι μὲ τὶς εὐλογίες τοῦ Οἰκουμενικοῦ Πατριαρχείου ἀποκαταστάθηκαν «διὰ μαγείας» καὶ κατεστάθησαν μέλη τῆς ΟΕΟ, ἐνῶ τὸ «πνευματικό τέκνο» τοῦ Φιλαρέτου «Πατριάρχου» Κιέβου, Ἐπιφάνιος Ντουμένκο ἀναγνωρίσθηκε ὡς Μητροπολίτης Κιέβου καὶ πάσης Οὐκρανίας. Τί θά περίμενε κανεὶς στὴ συνέχεια; Μόνο ἐπαλήθευση τῶν λόγων τοῦ Χριστοῦ : «Δένδρον σαπρὸν, σαπροὺς καρποὺς ποιεῖ». Ἄνθρωποι φιλόδοξοι ποὺ καταπατοῦν τοὺς ἐκκλησιαστικοὺς θεσμοὺς, χωρὶς τὴν Χάρη τοῦ τελεταρχικοῦ ἁγίου Πνεύματος θὰ μποροῦσαν νὰ φέρουν εἰρήνη καὶ ἑνότητα στοὺς ὀρθοδόξους τῆς Οὐκρανίας;
Ὁ Φιλάρετος καὶ πάλι ἀποσκίρτησε καὶ ἀνέλαβε τὀν «θρόνο» του, δημιουργώντας νέα «Πατριαρχική Σύνοδο Κιέβου» ἐνῶ μέχρι σήμερα ἀναγράφεται κανονικά στά δίπτυχα τοῦ Οίκουμενικοῦ Πατριαρχείου τῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Ἑλλάδος ὡς ἐπίτιμος Πατριάρχης!. Οἱ ἄλλοι δυναστεύουν μὲ τοὺς ψευδεπισκόπους τους τὸ ὀρθόδοξο ποίμνιο τῆς Οὐκρανίας. Ἁρπαγὲς, καταστροφὲς καὶ βεβηλώσεις τῶν ναῶν τῆς ὑπὸ τὸν Μητροπολίτη Ὀνούφριο Κανονικῆς Ἐκκλησίας, κλοπὲς τῆς περιουσίας, προπηλακισμοὶ, φυλακίσεις ἱερέων βιαιες ἐκδηλώσεις. Φυλακίσθηκε ὁ ἡγούμενος τῆς Λαύρας τῶν Σπηλαίων Παῦλος. Μὲ τὶς εὐλογίες τοῦ Ντουμένκο, τῶν ἐπισκόπων του καὶ τὴν ἀρωγὴ τῆς κρατικῆς ἐξουσίας, μὲ στρατιωτικὲς στολὲς oἱ ὀπαδοὶ τῆς ΟΕΟ μπαίνουν καὶ καταλαμβάνουν τοὺς ναοὺς.
Ποιὸ εἶναι τὸ τελικὸ ἀποτέλεσμα τοῦ «Αὐτοκεφάλου»; Σχίσματα ἐπί σχισμάτων. Ἂς μᾶς παρακαλεῖ ὁ Ἀπόστολος «διὰ τοῦ ὀνόματος τοῦ Κυρίου ἡμῶν Ἰησοῦ Χριστοῦ, ἵνα τὸ αὐτὸ λέγητε πάντες, καὶ μὴ ᾖ ἐν ὑμῖν σχίσματα, ἦτε δὲ κατηρτισμένοι ἐν τῷ αὐτῷ νοΐ καὶ ἐν τῇ αὐτῇ γνώμῃ». Ἐμεῖς θὰ ἀκολουθήσουμε τὸ πνεῦμα τοῦ κόσμου καὶ τὶς ἀπαιτήσεις τῶν ἰσχυρῶν.
Ἰδοὺ καὶ τὰ σχίσματα : Σχίσμα μεταξὺ τῆς κανονικῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Οὐκρανίας καὶ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Ρωσίας, σχίσμα μεταξὺ Ρωσίας καὶ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Κων/πόλεως, σχίσμα μεταξὺ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Ρωσίας καὶ τῆς Ἐκκλησίας τῆς Ἑλλάδος καὶ μεταξὺ ὅσων Ἐκκλησιῶν ἀνεγνώρισαν τό Οὐκρανικὸ Αὐτοκέφαλο. Διαιρέσεις μεταξύ κληρικῶν μοναχῶν καὶ λαϊκῶν, ἄλλων ὀπαδῶν τοῦ Αὐτοκεφάλου καὶ ἄλλων ποὺ ἀρνοῦνται τὴν κανονικότητά του.
Ἀφόρητη λύπη πλημμυρίζει τὶς καρδιὲς ὅλων μας. «Πᾶσα κεφαλὴ εἰς πόνον καὶ πᾶσα καρδία εἰς λύπην. Ἀπὸ ποδῶν ἕως κεφαλῆς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν αὐτῷ ὁλοκληρία, οὔτε τραῦμα οὔτε μώλωψ οὔτε πληγὴ φλεγμαίνουσα·
Ἴσως ὑπῆρχε κάποιο ὑγιὲς μέρος στὸ σῶμα τῆς Ἐκκλησίας. Μήπως τὸ Περιβόλι τῆς Παναγίας; Καὶ γιὰ νὰ ἐπαληθευθεῖ ἡ προφητεία τοῦ Ἡσαΐα, ὥστε νὰ μὴ μείνει «ὁλοκληρία», οὔτε ἕνα ὑγιὲς μέρος στὴν ἐν Ἑλλάδι Ὀρθοδοξία σ’αὐτὴ τὴν ἀναστάτωση, ὁ Πρωτεπιστάτης καὶ κάποια μοναστήρια ἁγιορείτικα ὑποδέχθηκαν μὲ δόξα καὶ τιμὴ τὸν Ἐπιφάνιο Ντουμένκο. Κάποιοι ἡγούμενοι μὲ περισσὴ εὐλάβεια τοῦ φίλησαν τὸ χέρι καὶ ζήτησαν τὶς προσευχές του. Καλῶς. Μπορεῖ νὰ μὴ γνώριζαν τὴν δήλωσή του ὅτι τό φίλημα τῆς χειρός τοῦ ἱερέως δείχνει ὑποτέλεια καὶ εἶναι μιὰ ρωσικὴ συνήθεια τὴν ὁποία δὲν συμμερίζεται. Ὅμως δὲν μπορεῖ νὰ μὴν γνωρίζουν τὶς ἀσχημίες, τὶς διώξεις τῶν κληρικῶν καὶ λαϊκῶν τῆς Κανονικῆς Οὐκρανικῆς Ὀρθοδόξου Ἐκκλησίας, τὶς ἁρπαγὲς καὶ βεβηλώσεις ποὺ συμβαίνουν στὴν Οὐκρανία. Ἀκόμη καὶ ὁ ΟΗΕ ζήτησε τὸ λόγο ἀπὸ τὸν Ζελένσκυ γιὰ τὴν βιαιότητα τῶν ὀπαδῶν τοῦ Ἐπιφανίου Ντουμένκο. Γιατί οἱ ἁγιορεῖτες πατέρες νά ἀδιαφοροῦν γιὰ τοὺς πάλιν καὶ πολλάκις διωκομένους καὶ βασανισμένους ἀδελφούς τους; Τί νόημα ἔχουν οἱ ἀνά τον κόσμο περιοδεῖες γιά ψυχωφελεῖς ὁμιλίες Ἁγιορειτῶν, ὅταν δέν συνοδεύονται μέ παράδειγμα ὀρθοδόξου ἀντίστασης στό σατανικό πνεῦμα τῆς Νέας Ἐποχῆς, πού θέλει ὄχι νά ἀδειάσουν οἱ Ἐκκλησίες, ἀλλά νά γεμίσουν μέ ἀνθρώπους χωρίς Ορθόδοξο φρόνημα; Ἀναστατώθηκε ὅλος ὁ λαὸς τῆς Οὐκρανίας ἀπὸ τὴν βίαιη παρέμβαση τοῦ Πατριαρχείου στὴν ἐκκλησιαστικὴ ζωή, ἀπὸ τὴν παρουσία καὶ δράση τῶν κακῶν ποιμένων, τῶν σχισματικῶν, ἐνῶ ἕως τότε ὑπὸ τὸν Μητροπολίτη Ὀνούφριο ἡ Ἐκκλησία ὅσο τὸ δυνατὸν εἰρήνευε καὶ οἱ σχισματικοὶ ζοῦσαν στὸ περιθώριο κάνοντας τὸ θέλημά τους. Ὁ βάσκανος ἐχθρός τῶν χριστιανῶν πέτυχε ὅλη αὐτὴ τὴν ταραχὴ καὶ διάσπαση στὴν Οὐκρανία.
Ὁ προφήτης Ἡσαΐας ποὺ θρηνεῖ γιὰ τὴν κατάσταση τοῦ Ἰσραὴλ, μὲ τοὺς λόγους του ἀντικατοπτρίζει καὶ τὴν τωρινὴ κατάσταση τῆς Ἐκκλησίας μας. Πονεμένος ὁ Προφήτης γιὰ ὅσα συνέβαιναν καὶ ἀπεγνωσμένος τρόπον τινὰ ἀπὸ τὴν συνεχιζόμενη ἀποστασία τῶν ὁμογενῶν του γράφει : «οὐκ ἔστιν μάλαγμα ἐπιθῆναι οὔτε ἔλαιον οὔτε καταδέσμους». Εἶναι σὰν νὰ τούς λέει : «Εἶστε τόσο πληγωμένοι ἀπὸ τὴν ἁμαρτία καὶ τὴν ἀποστασία ὥστε δὲν μποροῦν νὰ ἀκουμπήσουν στὶς πληγὲς σας ἰαματικὰ ἐπιθέματα, οὔτε λάδι, οὔτε ἐπίδεσμοι γιὰ νὰ σᾶς θεραπεύσουν». Ἔτσι περίπου εἴμαστε καὶ μεῖς σήμερα ὡς Ἐκκλησία. Ὄχι μόνο λόγῳ τοῦ οὐκρανικοῦ προβλήματος, ἀλλὰ καὶ ἀπὸ τὶς ἀλόγιστες προσευχὲς, τὴ διακοινωνία μὲ τὴν αἵρεση καὶ τὴ διάβρωση μέρους τοῦ κλήρου καὶ τοῦ λαοῦ ἀπὸ τὴν καλπάζουσα ἐπίθεση τοῦ Οἰκουμενισμοῦ εἴμαστε ὡς σῶμα καταπληγωμένοι. Ἡ βλάσφημη περιφρόνηση καὶ καταπάτηση τῶν Ἱ. Κανόνων στὸ σύνολό τους ὁδήγησε σὲ σύγχυση καὶ ἀπώλεια ψυχῶν. Ὅμως ἔχουμε τὴν ἁγία, ὀρθόδοξη Παράδοση τῆς Ἐκκλησίας μας. Μόνο ἂν κάμψουμε ταπεινὰ τὸν αὐχένα στὴν ἀλήθεια τοῦ Εὐαγγελίου στὴ διδασκαλία τῶν ἁγίων Πατέρων καὶ τὴν ἀκρίβεια τῶν θεοπνεύστων Ἱ. Κανόνων (πρῶτα ἀπ’ὅλους καὶ ὡς ὁδηγοί μας οἱ ἁγιορεῖτες πατέρες) θὰ θεραπευθοῦν τὰ τραύματα τῆς Ἐκκλησίας θὰ ὁδηγηθεῖ ἡ ἱερὰ Ναῦς στὴν εἰρήνευση τῶν πιστῶν, στὴν ἀληθῆ ἑνότητα ἐν Χριστῷ.
Ὅμως αὐτὲς οἱ ὀρθόδοξες βάσεις φαίνεται νὰ ἔχουν χαθεῖ ἀπὸ τὸ ἐκκλησιαστικὸ προσκήνιο. Φαίνεται πώς τίποτε πλέον δὲν ὠφελεῖ. Μοιάζει σὰν νὰ μὴν ἀκούει κανεὶς τίποτε. Οὔτε οἱ κραυγὲς, οὔτε ἡ ὀργὴ οὔτε ἡ πολλὴ λύπη ἔχουν ἀντίκτυπο στὸ διεθνὲς σύστημα. Ὅμως ἐμεῖς πρέπει νὰ ἐμμένουμε στὴν προσευχὴ, ἀκόμη καὶ ὑπὲρ τῶν ἀρχόντων ποὺ μᾶς δυναστεύουν, ὅπως μᾶς δίδασκε ὁ πνευματικὸς μας πατέρας, ὁ π. Σαράντης. «Κρατοῦντες τῆς ὁμολογίας» τῆς Ὀρθοδόξου Πίστεως, μὲ προσεκτικὴ ἐν Χριστῷ ζωὴ, μὲ προσευχὴ ἐκ βάθους καρδίας ἀκολουθοῦντες τοὺς ἀληθινοὺς ποιμένες ζῶντες προσεκτικὴ ἐν Χριστῷ ζωή ἂς δίνουμε τὴν ὀρθόδοξη μαρτυρία μας ἔχοντες τὴν ἐλπίδα μας στὸν Κύριό μας. Ἐλπίζουμε ὅτι Ἐκεῖνος, ὅπως τόσες φορὲς, θὰ δώσει τὴν ἔκβαση στὸν τωρινὸ πειρασμὸ εἰσακούοντας τὶς ταπεινές δεήσεις μας καὶ θὰ εἰρηνεύσει τὴν ἁγία Του Ἐκκλησία «ἥν περιεποιήσατο διὰ τοῦ ἰδίου αἵματος».
