Frenzy in Turkey over Guilfoyle: Trump's envoy to make Greece great again – Israel and USA threaten the Blue Homeland

The arrival of the new American ambassador to Athens, Kimberly Guilfoyle, on November 1, has sparked controversy in the Turkish press. Turkish media are linking her to the "reactivation of Trump's plan" for the Eastern Mediterranean, just before the "3+1" Summit (Greece – Cyprus – Israel – USA) scheduled to take place in the Greek capital on November 6-7.

Nationalist and Eurasian-oriented newspapers, such as Aydınlık and Sözcü, openly talk about a "new Washington game against Turkey," warning that a "front excluding the Blue Homeland" is being formed, centered around the energy triangle of Greece – Cyprus – Israel.

Aydınlık mentions a "diabolical alliance" coming back stronger, revealing that "Trump's father-in-law, Massad Boulos, is trying to organize a quadrilateral conference with Turkey, Greece, Egypt, and Libya, aiming to cancel the Turkey-Libya agreement of 2019."

Sözcü warns of a "new confrontation in the Blue Homeland," noting that the USA is "activating the 3+1 scheme" and promoting an "LNG pipeline that completely excludes Turkey."

At the same time, the director of Milliyet, in an article titled "Chess with the USA continues," attempts to de-escalate but simultaneously warns.

He admits that Washington will demand two moves from Ankara – "one concerning Israel and one Libya" – emphasizing that "Chevron, with former Trump minister behind it, is operating in Libyan jurisdiction zones."

He also references the statements of the US ambassador in Ankara, Barack, at the Manama Dialogue conference in Bahrain, saying that "Turkey and Israel will not go to war" and that "there will be alignment from the Caspian to the Mediterranean."

Similarly, Haber Global talks about a "new Chevron crisis in the Mediterranean," featuring statements from the architect of the "Blue Homeland," a retired admiral, urging Libya "to oppose American drilling with Turkey's support."

The picture is completed by rumors in American and Turkish media about a "Trump proposal for Cyprus" – suggesting that the withdrawal of Turkish troops is linked with energy agreements.

Meanwhile, nationalist websites present the new India – Cyprus defense cooperation as a "sly move" and the signing of a Memorandum for an Israel – Cyprus gas pipeline.

According to edotourkia, the Turkish public sphere appears in turmoil. From Beirut and Libya to Crete and Nicosia, the media view Washington's "chess" as an attempt to redraw the map of the Eastern Mediterranean and "press" Ankara between old and new energy axes.

"Balances are changing!" write Turkish opposition outlets after Energean's proposal for a new natural gas pipeline from Israel to the Republic of Cyprus.

The plan, revealed by Oda Tv, Ensondakika, and CGTN Türk, unsettles Ankara, as it's interpreted as bypassing Turkey and forming a new Israel – Cyprus – Greece axis in the region!

A Memorandum of Understanding has already been signed within the "3+1" framework (USA – Israel – Greece – Cyprus), according to the same media.

Turkish media warn that this is a geopolitical move that could upset the balance of power in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Ankara speaks of "ignoring the rights of the so-called TRNC" and denounces unilateral action.

Turkish analysts fear escalation and energy exclusion of Turkey.

The same sources link the project with the US strategy to reduce Europe's dependency on Russian gas, giving a key role to Israel and Cyprus.

At the same time, they ironically comment that Israel "promotes its image as a normal regional player through energy diplomacy," while "maintaining occupation in Palestine."

If realized, the pipeline will connect Israeli deposits with Nicosia and then with Greece, creating a new energy corridor to Europe.

Ankara reacts:

"Only fair sharing brings stability!" stress Turkish media, warning that the agreement will deepen rather than bridge the rifts in the region.
